As the new year rolls in, most of us have either already begun or are just starting to plan our trips for 2016. But for those of us procrastinators, we’re still ogling at a globe trying to figure out where we want to go. I’ve created this list for those of us who are still searching! They’re in no particular order!
Shocking… the newly available forbidden fruit makes a list of places to visit! Well so be it. I was fortunate enough to visit in 2015, but it was a bit dodgy. However, travelling to the caribbean nation in 2016 will be quite a bit easier with the eased travel restrictions!
I think it’ll catch you by surprise how large Cuba actually is! Most of you will fly into Havana. From Havana in the east to Santiago de Cuba in the west is a 10 hour car ride, so plan accordingly!
Oh, and by the way, I took the picture above. It literally looks like that every night….
Yes, I know the Maldives might be a little less economically viable, but considering that it’s all together possible the Indian Ocean island nation may be completely underwater in our lifetime, I could see myself justifying the price.
Whether you’re staying in a luxurious ocean based tiki hut or a teeny, land based hostel, the Maldives is a gorgeous island nation that you need to visit at least once!
I may be a bit bias towards this one, however, it’s still highly regarded as one of the up and coming places to visit in 2016. Actually, CNN ranked it upon their Top 16 Places to Visit in 2016! Whether you’re immersing yourself in their incredibly unique culture, or dining on their exquisite cuisine (**cough cough Khinkali cough cough**), Georgia will be, literally, like nothing you’ve ever experienced.
I suggest brushing up on your Georgian! ვლაპარაკობ კართული წუდად.
As an American, I’ve never really felt the urge to go to Canada. It wasn’t “exotic” enough. However, over the past year, my ignorance has slowly diminished. Canada is up there as one of the most beautiful countries in the world and places like Banff National Park (pictured above) will leave you speechless.
My girlfriend and I visited Toronto in November, and even the metropolis surprised us with how different it was from every other US city we’d been to! It was a combination of cities like Amsterdam, Philadelphia, and residential Washington DC.
Image curtesy of the Lonely Planet, but golly… look how beautiful Dubrovnik is! As I get ready to embark on my six month journey to Prague, Croatia is definitely on my list of places I need to visit. The Slovak history paired with the coastal Mediterranean influence creates a cluster-f*** of cultures and thus produces a destination like none other.
I’ve never been, but I’ve seen pictures and if my wanderlust was graphed, it’d be like Al Gore and climate change…
As a family, Japan has sat atop the Clegg’s “must visit” list for quite some time. As someone who still holds onto their East Asian virginity, Japan excites me to an extent I cannot explain. Their culture, their food, their technological advancement.. it all baffles me. Oh.. and their architecture, don’t even get me started! I mean just look at the picture above. Influenced by Buddhist temples, the majority wooden structures and unique roofs are as visually appealing as anything else.
Obviously I want to go everywhere, so this is just a short list of places I think you should go! Do you have any travel plans for 2016 or want to share with us where you think we should go? Comment them below!
